Operative Carbides

Our Carbide Burs are designed, manufactured, and finished for optimum strength, performance and durability

Our tungsten carbide burs are engineered to cut more effectively and with greater blade contact on the tooth surface and reduced risk of chipping or breakage. The design ensures a fast, smooth, vibration free performance reducing patient discomfort as well as operating time. An important element of every bur is the brazing technique. Since the brazing technique is so important, our burs are brazed in the neck as opposed to the base of the head.  The 100% carbide neck offers optimum concentricity and strength. (Non-Sterile)

Round Carbide

Our Round Carbide Burs are popular for the preparation of conservative single surface cavities. They may also be used for interproximal cavities in anterior teeth (class III). Additional applications include gaining root canal access both anteriorly and posteriorly. Used for cavity preparation, and root canal access. Smaller sizes often used for single surface cavities, medium sizes often used for interproximal cavities in anterior teeth. For contouring and finishing restorations, root planning, bone contouring and smoothing.

Pear Carbide

Our Pear burs may be used for much of the preparation of conservative to moderately large occlusal cavities in anterior teeth. These burs will penetrate enamel, safely remove decay, and are appropriate for the retention of obturations to the amalgam, with silicate, composite or acrylic resins. Can be used to contour the occlusal anatomy, preparing cavities, removing amalgam, refinement or preparations, and finishing of restorations. Produces an undercut preparation with round internal line angles. For refinement of preparations and contouring and finishing of restorations.

Inverted Cone Carbide

Our Inverted Cone burs are used primarily for producing undercuts at the junction of the pulpal floor and lateral walls in occlusal (class 1) cervical (class IV) cavities and the occlusal locks of the class II cavities. For producing undercuts in cavity preparation; slightly rounded edges on the blade corners reduce chipping for a smoother cut. Ideal for amalgam removal. May also be used to contour the occlusal anatomy of final restorations and for flattening pupal and gingival walls.
